What:

Lead actor in Alienated, a SPACE channel series that explores the connection between alien abduction and sexual perversion. Redmond is a veteran of several locally-shot TV shows such as Smallville, Dark Angel, X-Files and Da Vinci’s Inquest, in which she plays Sgt. Kurtz.

Wish I’d said that:

“I ain’t takin’ my pants down for nobody.” This was from Open Range. Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall had four men tied up with sacks over their heads, and told them to take their clothes off so that Kevin and Robert would have more time to get away.

Dream colleague:

“Well, I have two answers for two very different reasons. Can’t help it: Olivier Martinez (Unfaithful). Do I need to explain why? And the wonderful Helen Mirren. A total power-house, loved her in Prime Suspect; I based a bit of Sergeant Kurtz from Da Vinci’s Inquest on her character. Funny enough, the two of them are starring together in The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone.“

What’s on my night table:

“My friend Todd Sandomersky has been working on a script for a few years now, he just handed over his first finished draft, and he’s got me hooked, it’s fantastic. Before that, I was reading The Holographic Universe, by Michael Talbot, also mind-blowing stuff.”

In my secret life:

“I am a total adrenaline junkie-that is my passion and addiction. Right now I am boxing with Kevin Reynolds, one of Canada’s top boxers, and it’s painfully exhilarating. I am running the Vancouver Marathon May 2, in honour of my mother who is strong and healthy after surviving cancer four times. I am raising money for cancer research.”

Before I quit my day job:

“I was a secretary for a very small but elite company that designed new building materials for homes… About a year after leaving that job I was watching the news, and saw they were being arrested. They were the biggest arms dealers in North America and the police had been trying to bring them down for years!”

Brush with greatness:

“I had been offered a recurring role on Chris Carter’s Millennium and I was cast to play Lance Henriksen’s nemesis, also known as `the devil.’ I remember standing outside the studio doors at about 2 a.m in the morning with Lance, both of us smoking and talking non-stop about how incredible it is to be doing what we were doing, our craft. He may not be a huge A-list name, but his attitude, his passion and integrity was something I decided that I would strive for.”

What I am looking forward to:

“I really hope Alienated gets picked up for season three. All ’round, it is an exceptional experience, and the proof is in the writing – it is friggin’ funny, man. We go back for season seven on Da Vinci’s Inquest in June, we are all ecstatic Chris Haddock will be there this year. (I also want to) climb Mount Everest, work with the Coen Brothers, eat more greens, freedom, growth, joy. A lead in a gigantic colossal blockbuster movie. Hey, I’m only human.”
